« Go Back

Information

TitleSNMP response to OID dot3StatsDuplexStatus in Summit switches
Symptoms
SNMP response to the OID “dot3StatsDuplexStatus” is always 1 (unknown) when the port configuration has auto-negotiation enabled.

Environment
  • All EXOS
  • Summit series
Cause
  • As per the RFC 2655, if the port has auto-negotiation enabled and operating at full duplex, we expect the OID to fetch the value of 3(full) and if it is operating at half duplex, we expect the OID to fetch the value of 2(half).
  • However, in EXOS, we observe that if the port has auto-negotiation enabled, it always returns the value of 1 (unknown) and does not say about the current operating mode.
  • This is identified as a wrong behaviour.
Resolution
Track the fix via CR xos0059964. Contact GTAC for more details.
Target Release(s):
EXOS 21.1.1 (Released)
EXOS 15.7.2 (Released)
EXOS 16.1.2 (Released)
EXOS 15.3.5-GA-Jun17 (Assigned)
