Symptoms
Problem:

SNMP trap is not generated when MLAG peer is down with alternate path configuration

Topology:
*********** 
SW1 (port 1) ---- (port 1) SW2 

both switches's mgmt IP is configured / used for MLAG altenate-ip via VR-MGMT 

Observation:
***************
  • Disable the ISC link between switches
  • Observe that the SNMP trap for ExtremeMlagPeerDown(1.3.6.1.4.1.1916.1.41.3.0.2) object is not generated
  • Re-enable ISC link between switches
  • Observe that the SNMP trap for ExtremeMlagPeerUp(1.3.6.1.4.1.1916.1.41.3.0.1) object is generate
Environment
  • EXOS 21.1.1.4
Cause
This is caused by CR xos0066325
Resolution
Upgrade to an EXOS version that includes the fix for this issue.
  • EXOS 22.2.1
  • EXOS 21.1.3 which it is targeted in March 2017 time frame
