Symptoms
Unknown unicast traffic encapsulated according to the multicast FIB and terminated on the remote BEB as known unicast is not forwarded correctly if the destination UNI port and the NNI port on which was received were on different units in stack.
This can happen in environments involving asymmetric routing (i.e. HSRP), where unicast flooding takes place.
Environment
  • All ERS 4900/5900 series switches (except ERS 59100) .
  • Software releases prior 7.6.1.
Cause
Software defect. Loopback port missing in software's internal tables.
Resolution
The issue is fixed in software release 7.6.1.
