Information

TitleSecureStack DHCP Pool Ascii String command is Deleted upon Unit Reset
Symptoms
Upon reboot for any reason, the 'set dhcp pool <poolname> option <number> ascii "text string"' command is lost.
Environment
  • SecureStack
  • I, G, C5, C3, C2, B5, B3, B2, A4-Series
  • Firmware 6.41, 6.42, 6.51, 6.61, 6.71, 6.81
Configured for DHCP, including an ascii multi-word text option within double quotes.
For example: set dhcp pool phone option 130 ascii "MITEL IP PHONE"
Cause
This command is stored in the configuration without quotations, so when the line is reapplied upon reboot, it fails - just as if originally entered without the quotation marks.
Resolution
For the C5, B5, and A4 Series, upgrade to 6.71 firmware 6.71.02.0007 or higher.
There is no confirmed expectation of a fix in other firmware lines or for other products.

Pre-upgrade workaround:
Avoid using space characters in the text field.
For example, here one could use "MITEL_IP_PHONE" instead.
