Information

TitleSecureStack crash with DMA error
Symptoms
  • Potential for high CPU condition for process: C5IntProc or IntProc or CPLD_Status
  • Unit resets with 'Error code 0x6c327800'
  • Unit resets with DMA error messages:

Environment
  • SecureStack
  • C5-Series
  • B5-Series
  • C3-Series
  • B3-Series
  • G-Series
Cause
L2 table DMA bit-error
Resolution
  • For the C3 or B3; upgrade to 6.61 firmware 6.61.13.0006 or higher.
  • For the C5 or B5; upgrade to 6.71 firmware 6.71.05.0008 or higher 06.71.xx track.
  • For the C5 or B5; upgrade to 6.81 firmware 6.81.02.0007 or higher 06.81.xx track.
Previously an attempt to recover from a L2 table DMA error would result in a disruptive reset with a log entry of:  “soc_l2x_thread DMA failed too many times”.
After upgrade, on an L2 Table DMA failure we will now walk the table to find the corrupted entry and remove it with no disruption. The expected warning message is: “warning soc_l2x_thread: Bad L2 table entry found. Recovering”.
Additional notes
Hub KB 16165, "C5/C3/B5/B3-Series Firmware Resolution for DMA Error reset"

For the G-Series, upgrade to 6.61 firmware 6.61.13.0006 or higher.
