Symptoms
  • "SCHAN errors detected on SoC unit 1" error message displayed in log
  • "UNIT 1 SCHAN ERROR: V/E=1 SRC=13 DST=15 OPCODE=20(MEM_FAIL_NOTIFY) ERRCODE=0x1 Tucana MMU DRAM CG0.M1 CRC error at 0x00000000" error message during boot up cycle.
  • "SCHAN ERROR OPCODE = 20 MEM_FAIL_NOTIFY ERRCODE = 0x1 Tucana MMU DRAM CG0.M1 CRC error"

Cause
Isolated hardware failure condition
Resolution
Hardware failure.
Submit an RMA through our Support Portal or contact the GTAC for immediate technical assistance.

Additional notes
The switch will require replacement.
For fault isolation in a stack, the failing switch unit number will be appended to the source IP address of the message.  For example, "10.16.21.10-2" indicates that the message is associated with failing stack unit 2.
