Symptoms
  • MAC authentication continuously attempts to authenticate users.

Cause
When MAC authentication is enabled but no authentication method is available such as RADIUS then the system will continuously attempt and fail to authenticate users.
Resolution
Having authentication enabled without a authentication method is a incomplete and unsupported configuration. To resolve this MAC authentication can be disabled or a authentication method such as RADIUS can be configured.
