Switch Port Failure on a Summit

TitleSwitch Port Failure on a Summit
Symptoms
  • Hosts are not able to communicate with switch
  • LED's dont blink / Amber in color
  • Ports in "Ready" state
Environment
  • Summit
  • Blackdiamond
  • EAS
Cause
Resolution
  •  Disable / enable subjected port
  •  Restart that subjected port
  •  Delete all vlans from the subjected port and create a new test vlan and see whether the port is working with a directly connected PC.
  •  Check the LED status of port
  •  Run extended diagnostic on switch. Make sure to run it on a maintenance window as switch will  reboot at that time.
  •  If the above steps do not help please Submit an RMA
