Switch boots up in the BootRom mode without being able to initialize EXOS firmware.

Cause
Resolution
1. Try rebooting the switch with the different image.
  • Reboot the switch by unplugging the power and plugging it back in
  • Press and hold the <spacebar> button while the switch is booting up to enter the Bootrom menu
  • Select the image that is currently not used by typing the command "boot 1" or "boot 2"
  • Verify that you are able to boot to the alternate image
  • Reinstall or upgrade the EXOS image on the partition that the image is corrupted on
2. Use the BootROM menu to TFTP download a new image to the switch.
See How to Use the BootROM Menu to Download and Install a New Image to an EXOS Switch for the steps for installing a recovery image from Bootrom. Please note that this will erase all data on the switch.
