TitleThe 2.4 Ghz radio channel on all adopted APs is set to 1 although Smart-RF is being used.
Symptoms
The 2.4 Ghz radio on the virtual controller is configured to use Smart-RF for dynamic channel/power selection; however, the radio channel on all adopted APs is set to 1.
Environment
  • WiNG 5.8.x
  • Swift-UI
  • WiNG Express
  • All APs with Swift-UI
  • Virtual controller
Cause
The non-overlapping 2.4GHz radio channels (1,6 and 11) are not configured in the Smart-RF Allowed Channel List on the virtual controller:

Resolution
Add non-overlapping channels 1, 6 and 11 to the Allowed Channels List.
  1. Login to your virtual controller via the Graphics User Interface (GUI). Under Configuration, click on Wireless > Click on the Smart-RF tab:

  1. In the Allowed Channels List section click on the Select Channel drop-down menu and select channels 1, 6 and 11 > Click on the plus sign to add them to the list:

  1. Select the channel width and click on the Apply button in the bottom right hand corner of the page to save the changes. The following is what should be displayed:

  1. Repeat the same procedure for the 5Ghz radio by selecting the appropriate channels and configuring the channel width. Click on Apply once the changes have been made.
