« Go Back

Information

TitleUnable to add Layer 3 VLAN to MLT configured also with SPBM Backbone VLANs
Symptoms
On a device with VOSS 6.1.2.0, customer is unable to add a VLAN to an MLT configured also as SPBm NNI, receiving:
"Error: SPBM NNI port/MLT port cannot be in VLAN which is not SPBM BVLAN".
On a device with older VOSS release 5.1.1.3, they can add a VLAN to SPBm NNI MLT without any problem.
Environment
  • VSP 4850GTS-PWR+
  • VOSS 6.0 and higher
Cause
Resolution
Enable the nni-mstp bootflag by boot config flags nni-mstp command. That will allow the co-existence of BVLANs and non-BVLANs on an NNI MLT and turns it in effect into a brouter port. This bootflag was introduced in VOSS release 6.0.
