  • The server port was changed from port 8080
  • The legacy clients will still try to use port 8080

Cause
Resolution
This will be addressed in version 8.0 of Extreme Management.

The following are options to use until version 8.0 is released:

1.  Start the java clients by pointing the browser to: http://serverIP:port#/Clients

2. Create a shortcut to start the client:

3. Create a short cut from Java temp file: 

a) Launch the NetSight launch page from: http://serverIP:port#/Clients 
b) Start one of the clients. 
c) Launch the Java Control Panel from the client system. 
d) From the General Tab in the Java Control Panel select the View button. 
e) Right click on the entry for the client they launched and Click Install Shortcuts 

This will place an icon on the Desktop that they can use to start the client without needed to use the NetSight launch page.
