Information

TitleUser does not get a Guest Access Role after registering to the WLAN configured on XCA
Symptoms
User does not get a Guest Access Role after registering to the WLAN configured on XCA
Environment
  • ExtremeCloud Appliance
  • ExtremeWireless
  • Version 4.26.011, 4.26.02 and 4.26.03
  • AP3935 and AP3912
  • Believed to likely impact all ExtremeWireless Access Points
  • Guest Registration
Cause
There were persistent settings on the Access Point from an old Extreme Wireless Controller that were not removed when it was migrated to ExtremeCloud Appliance.  This caused the configuration to not be pushed completely to the AP and it would not accept a Guest Access Role, even though it appeared that the client had it's correct Role.
Resolution
When migrating existing Access Points from an Extreme Wireless Controller to the ExtremeCloud Appliance, it is recommended to perform a factory reset of the AP prior to configuring on the XCA.

This functionality is being reviewed by the Engineering Team.
