Symptoms
Wireless users unable to obtain IP address on 2610 access point

Messages seen in the log:

 
Config Manager has failed to process a request. Config Manager is still running, and system functionality is not impaired. Error Details: AP [serial#] doesn't support role <role-name>
Role[Rolename] contains features that are not supported by AP[ap_serial_number]. A role that denies all traffic will be substituted. Upgrading AP may address the incompatibility.


 
Environment
  • Identifi wireless
  • Firmware 9.15.02
  • AP26xx
  • Default action set to allow in role
  • Vlan egress defined in role
Cause
  • AP26xx series don't support the rule type
Resolution
  1. Set role default action to "Contain to vlan"
  2. In the role default action advanced settings ensure no vlan egress is defined in the right side box.
