Symptoms

Silent reboot of switch without generating Core dump and Back Trace. Switch log "SW ERROR HW Watchdog Timeout" before reboot.

Environment
  • VOSS 6.1 release stream
  • VSP 8400
Cause
Switch reboots silently without generating Core file and BackTrace.  Below are the different log messages switch generates before the reboot.

Resolution
Recommended to upgrade VOSS release 7.1.1.0 as the new Kernal could help in this type situation.
