TitleWhen ports are shown as tagged with '-1 L2 VLANS' and dual-mode, IP addresses cannot be added to these interfaces and LAG ports cannot be reconfigured.
Symptoms
When ports are shown as tagged with '-1 L2 VLANS' and dual-mode, IP addresses cannot be added to these interfaces and LAG ports cannot be reconfigured.
Environment
Software Release: All versions
Fixed in Version: N/A
Cause
Issue is due to the use of an incorrect module installation procedure.

Module was inserted into slot, but would not boot due to 'snmp-server max-ifindex-per-module' not being configured to support modules with >24 ports, so module went into interactive mode.

The configuration was updated to add'snmp-server max-ifindex-per-module 64' and the LP was power cycled to reload it.

When the module came up it was in this state due to the incorrect programming of internal structures, which was triggered by configuring the 'snmp-server max-ifindex-per-module' commandafter inserting the module.

Note: This issue is applicable to all LP modules that have more than 20 ports. (24x1G, 24x10G, 48x1G)
Resolution
This issue was due to the use of an incorrect installation procedure, the following is the correct method for installing an LP module with >24 ports:

1.Configure 'snmp-server max-ifindex-per-module 64'
2.Insert module into slot.
Additional notes
1. Remove module from slot.
2.Configure 'no module <slot_number> <module_type>'
3.Configure 'snmp-server max-ifindex-per-module 64'
4.Insert module into slot.
