Symptoms
When you are trying to upgrade the AP with the patch image, using the instructions in our How to apply patch in WiNG environment, you get the following error:
AP#upgrade ftp://username:pass@IPADDRESS/AP75XX-CPU-Bringup-1.0.patch
Running from partition /dev/mtdblock7
Validating image file header

Update error:  Bad file, image header contains carriage returns

  • WirelessWiNG Acess Points
  • WiNG v5.X Software
  • AP7522
  • AP7532
Cause
The patch image has been downloaded or unzipped incorrectly, causing a character addition in the end of the file.
Resolution
Download the patch again and try to re-apply it. If the issue is still persistent, then contact our GTAC support (How to contact Extreme Networks Global Technical Assistance Center (GTAC)), a new download link is necessary.
