Information

TitleWired client plugged into a TP-LINK wireless bridge, does not pass traffic/pull an address.
Symptoms
Wired client doesn't get an IP, or authenticate.
Environment
WLAN with MAC based authentication enabled.
Cause
Instead of passing the clients MAC address to NAC for authentication, TP-LINK will send its own OUI with the clients NIC specific MAC appended on the end to NAC for authentication.
Resolution
Add a white-list entry on the authenticating server with the TP-LINK's OUI, and the clients NIC specific MAC added after the OUI.
