Symptoms
  • Very high ping times and sometimes also ping dropouts
  • Apple Clients high ping latency and ping loss
  • Scanner with high ping latency
  • Windows Clients with ping delay and ping loss
  • Client signal strength are very astable even coverage is good
  • Signal strength jumping up and down from e.g -60dBm  to -90dBm
  • Client need long before getting DHCP
  • Client lose from time to time the connection to the WLAN
Environment
  • IdentiFi
  • Firmware 9.21.XX and 10.01.x.x
  • Scanner
  • Apple iPad
  • Apple iPhone
  • Apple iTouch
  • Probe Suppression
  • Windows Clients
Cause
  • Windows Clients , Apple IOS on iPhone or iPad ,or  Scanner does have communication issue with disabled Probe Suppression.
Resolution
  1. Go to AP Main Menu
  2. Select AP from the AP list. 
  3. Click on AP Radio 1 or Radio 2 Tab 
  4. Click Advanced Button 
  5. Check enable Probe Suppression
  6. Check enable Force Disassociate
  7. Set the RSS Threshold -80 dBm
  8. Change Radio 2 ( 2.4Ghz) settings from 11b/g/n to g/n
  9. Click Close button in the Advanced menu
  10. Click Save button
  11. The following steps can also be done via the AP Multi Edit to change on many AP's at one time.
