« Go Back

Information

Titleafter adding neighbor as IPv6 default route communication is lost
Symptoms
IPv6 traffic is dropped after neighbor is added as default route

Environment
  • EXOS 15.5.4.2 (or earlier)
  • EXOS 15.6.3.1 (or earlier)
  • EXOS 15.7.1
  • EXOS 16.1.1
  • Summit x460G2
  • Summit x670G2
  • Summit x770
  • BD8k-C-series blades
Cause
When the subnet length of VLAN's IPv6 interface is greater than 64, the received IPv6 packets are hitting default route first (instead of local route) resulting in lifting of malformed packets to CPU and thereby getting dropped
Resolution
upgrade to a version with fix for xos0062018:
  • EXOS 15.3.5.2-patch1-8
  • EXOS 15.5.4.2-patch1-5
  • EXOS 15.6.3.1-patch1-4
  • EXOS 15.7.2.9
  • EXOS 16.1.2.2
