Symptoms
  • Logging into the web UI as any user, the web UI logs you out within 10 seconds with the error:  'Session has timed out'
Environment
  • Extreme Management Center v8.4.4
Cause
  • Firewall settings is the most common cause
Resolution
  • Check the local Firewall runs on the machine running the browser.
  • There have been multiple instances where an anti-virus utility, such as ESET will be updated and see the 8443 port as a threat and block traffic.  This causes a user to log into the web interface, and then immediately get logged out with a 'client timeout. error.  
  • In the instances we have seen, uninstalling ESET (and restarting the computer) resolved the issue immediately. 
  • Long term first is to modify the firewall/anti-virus settings to allow the 8443 traffic.
